Shorts: Wanderlust and Reality
As part of the About Tourism accompanying program, aut presents an evening of short films that take a critical and humorous look at the phenomena of mass tourism.
The program includes two short films by Corina Schwingruber Ilić. Her work All Inclusive, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2018, depicts through a series of atmospheric vignettes the curious everyday life aboard a cruise ship. In her latest film Been There (2023), she visits some of the world’s most crowded dream destinations, where tourists bustle in pursuit of the perfect photograph as a trophy of having been there.
Also featured is 5°C 40% rH (2017), a sensitive piece by Tyrolean-born Simona Obholzer, in which the autumn landscape, shimmering through veils of snow, takes center stage.
