Matta and Matto

In a dystopian world where touch is forbidden, Matta and Matto offer the lonely a refuge in their mobile hotel. In the rooms of Hotel Vaip, the deepest desires are fulfilled and surpassed, but this comes at a price.

The winning film masterfully maintains the balance between seriousness and humor, addressing themes that affect and have affected us all. Although its world is portrayed as dark, the characters remain colorful and multifaceted, and the story is told and illustrated with great sensitivity. Despite moments of surprise and disorientation, the narrative remains accessible. It is a profound story set in a world that feels distant yet intimately connected to our own desires and longings. Biographies

Bianca Caderas (*1990 in Basel, Switzerland) graduated with a Master of Arts in Film from Hochschule für bildende Kunst in Hamburg in 2020. Kerstin Zemp was born in 1993 in Wolhusen, Switzerland. In 2017 she graduated with a Bachelor in Animation 2D from HSLU (Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art).

Humans and some kind of gnomes have posted videos on social media platforms in their animated dimension. This film is a short compilation of these clips. An animated random flow of social media content that really ›will surprise you‹ and is worth to ›watch till the end‹. But number three will not shock you.

Biography

Marten Visser graduated from ArtEZ with a bachelor in Animation Design (2020). He received a Wildcard from the Nederlands Filmfonds for his graduation project.
