Musikfilme presented by DIAMETRALE Filmfestival

DIAMETRALE x ALLES GUTE, 18.+19.08.2026

Once again this year, ALLES GUTE will become the stage for extraordinary music films: HEX draws a powerful portrait of the Norwegian band Witch Club Satan, who bring an uncompromising, feminist interpretation of Black Metal to the stage. WHO KILLED THE KLF? follows the tracks of an absurd music project that made pop history with iconic chart hits and anarchic art campaigns. GOLDENE SCHINDEL and BRAVÖ HITS will open each evening with a selection of music videos.

The film screenings take place at Theater praesent (Tschamlerstr. 3). Start: 8:00 PM (doors: 7:15 PM)

Three young women form a witch pact and start a black metal band – without knowing how to sing or play instruments. Driven by rage and sisterhood, they quickly go from zero to performing on the biggest stages, including Roskilde, before even releasing an album. The film follows the band over three years, but also functions as a trial where critics and audiences judge whether the members are visionaries or witches who deserve to be burned. A story about friendship, resistance, and carving out a space for yourself in a rigidly normative world. (Tempo Dokumentärfestival)

The KLF burst onto the scene in the 1980s with their sample-heavy stadium house records that sold millions. They left the industry just as explosively, notoriously burning one million pounds and shooting machine-gun blanks at a BRIT Awards crowd. A musical outfit and anti-capitalist art duo that entranced ravers and the radio-friendly masses in equal measure, they were the Banksy of their time. From the acid house track ‘3 a.m. Eternal’ and the Tammy Wynette–featuring ‘Justified & Ancient’ to the Doctor Who novelty hit ‘Doctorin’ the Tardis’, there’s never been any band quite like The KLF.

Music producer Paul Oakenfold and DJ Carl Cox are on hand to give audiences added insight into what it was like to be under the spell of these electronic pioneers, while previously unheard commentary from The KLF’s famously private band members take us deeper behind the scenes. Marvellously lively and fittingly unauthorised, Who Killed The KLF? shines a spotlight on these music pioneers who have changed the world – and who have now deleted their entire catalogue from it. DIAMETRALE, »Innsbruck’s expert for extraordinary and unconventional filmmaking« (JoLe), has been bringing original imagery and contrasting auditory experiences far beyond mainstream tastes to the screen since 2017 under the motto »useless and beautiful«. The films are characterized by unconventional stories, experimental excesses, and the shattering of common cinematic conventions. Through bold moving-image fantasies, DIAMETRALE explores cinema as a space of possibilities, at the heart of which flickers the dream of a better future, and where humor triumphs over the adversities of the present. A film festival for all those who love to be surprised and celebrate the absurd, because »absurdity is the only possible way« (ToBe). The 11th edition of the festival will take place from March 31 to April 04, 2027. Closest cooperation buddy: Kulturkollektiv ContrApunkt.
